Chrystal Copland Kicks Off Fashion Month by Landing Anna Sui's AW2012 Beauty Campaign

Ahead of what is sure to be another stellar fashion week season for Chrystal Copland, the Perth model has kicked things off by landing a pretty major ad campaign.

Copland is the new face of Anna Sui cosmetics, joining the equally ethereal Frida Gustavsson and Jessica Stam by striking her best doll face for AW2012. The campaign was shot by Steven Meisel and features makeup done by cosmetics queen Pat McGrath. Like most Anna Sui beauty campaigns, the lashes are big and the hair even bigger, with AW2012 showcasing a striking shade of rich metallic purple on Copland’s eyes and nails.

Last year, the ice-blonde stunner walked more than 20 shows in her first season and snagged the coveting opening spot in Marc Jacobs’ Louis Vuitton show on the final day of Paris Fashion Week. Yep, the same one Kate Moss closed. This April, Copland landed her first international cover by way of Vogue Italia, which means this beauty campaign isn’t her first encounter with the inimitable Meisel. Only four Australian models (including Copland) have ever landed Vogue Italia covers, with the most memorable being Gemma Ward in 2005 and Miranda Kerr in 2010. Pretty impressive considering Copland went relatively unnoticed in Sydney for four whole years before heading overseas.

As the European shows kick off next week, expect to see a lot more of this face.
